Ok, am new and this is my first thread, so please forgive the warped twisted workngs of my mind, however a friend and I were having a discussion and I would like other people's thoughts.
His arguement was that it is more cruel to cut the head off a dog than a chicken because "Chickens are used to getting their heads chopped off" - I love it but is this a valid arguement?
We then naturally pogressed to the subject of which animals we would not cut the heads off - he said anything rare, cats, dogs, though he would happily cut the heads off lamas (as they're "ugly"), I would not cut the heads off - cats, mice, dogs, anything rare but I would happily cut the heads off children, sea gulls, and will pay to squit spiders.
I then asked about deer and he said no cos of bambi (I would), but is this a new idea for conservationists - make a movie for kids with a cute animal that is rare as main character then it will be safe FOREVER!

I'm all for destroying the forms of ugly monkeys but why all birds?
PS can we spare owls from the hit list?

But yep some how I don't think well ever find out the answer to that question.... but you have to wonder, after cuting off a chicken's head it can still run round for a while...... does it feal this at all.... and does this happen to dogs to or do they just well stop. ^^;;

I would argue that chickens are not used to decapitation because once their head is cut off they die, therefore they cannot 'get used to it'. Besides, they only survive a few minutes without a head until they bleed out. I wouldn't have the head cut of anything. Cruel and unusual Someone's bound to ask me if I eat meat next. I do, sometimes. Then I throw up. So... yeah, I can live without meat.

Yes I forgot falcons I won't support anyone cutting the head off falcons.
"I wouldn't have the head cut of anything." - do you count cliff richard in that (I really, really HATE cliff richard!)
My flat mate thinks she would throw up if she eats meat - I like it too much to do that though (sorry) - hmm hungry now *goes to find chocolate*

I went into town today and saw something wonderful - they had a fountain of melted CHOCOLATE that you could dip things in (eg turkish delight etc) for a couple of pounds but they want £195 for each fountain *mutters darkly*

*plots to steal chocolate fountains*
Lakeside is in Thurrock, which is in Essex. It's like a slightly smaller version of Bluewater.
